Evaluation of Intermental Foramina Distance among South Indian Population

Background: The intermental foramina distance varies between ethnicities, according to an OPG (orthopantomogram), which is a form of dental x-ray. mandibular foramen has bony canal developed in the mandible at two independent anatomies and its rim 'v' shaped, that was common where groove separating anterior posterior parts horizontally orientated oval shaped rim. placement by ethnicity; always measured from mandibles' mid-line.
 Materials Methods: OPGs are collected private college hospital chennai. location mental identified calculated adobe photoshop. data analysed using SPSS software.
 Results: average south Indian population 4.93 cm. Males have 5.14 cm inter foramen, whereas females 4.76 foramen. With p value 0.001, there significant difference genders population.
 Conclusion: Within restrictions study, it may be stated men women population, with 0.001. dentist's understanding critical when performing implants, orthodontic surgery, periodontal surgery. It aids dentist planning drilling lower jaw bone.
